Sway-A-Way performance axles are made from high quality aircraft alloy steel. Sway-A-Way Performance Axles are heat-treated and center less ground for a smooth consistent finish. The end diameter has been maximized to get the most face contact possible, minimizing wear between the axle and CV joint. The spline length has been increased to 2" - 3" to allow the CV joint to "float" on the axle. The center part of the axle is sized to twist like a torsion bar under heavy loads absorbing a large portion of the shock transmitted from the wheel to the gearbox. VW or Porsche 930 high-performance axle set are machined out of 4340 Chromoly steel. CA Prop 65 Warning
