VW Type 3 Brake Drum
VW Type 3 rear brake drum features a larger diameter than Type 1 or Thing drum and will provide more braking power for off-road use. Like the Thing drums, Type 3 drum will convert 4 lug VW to 5 lug (5 x 205mm) and will fit '68 swing axle, and '69 and later IRS rear suspensions. Swapping in these drums will require using type 3 backing plates, wheel cylinders, brake shoes, and spring kits. We carry wheel cylinders, brake shoes, and spring kits. Type 3 backing plates can be located at your local wrecking yard.
